John Carter. Based on the novel “A Princess of Mars” by Edgar Rice Burroughs. John Carter travels to Mars, gets captured, discovers he’s a superhero there, and triumphs over the secret evil society in a solid action-adventure. Mars is called Barsoom by the natives, which is fair — they live there, they can call it what they like. Didn’t do too well in the theaters, but it found a new life on home video and Netflix.
